Job Description


Our client has more than 50 years of knowledge, and experience engineering various materials that are used in self-driving cars to brain surgery, space stations to smart farming, high powered computing devices to wearable medical technologies.  

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tool and Die Technician to join this growing company. As a Tool and Die Technician, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process by maintaining, repairing, and fabricating precision tools, dies, and molds. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality components and ensure the efficiency of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and drawings to understand tooling requirements and develop appropriate manufacturing strategies.
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines, to fabricate and modify tooling components with precision.
Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot progressive dies, jigs, fixtures, molds, and other tooling equipment to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime.
Conduct inspections and measurements using precision instruments to verify the accuracy and quality of tooling components and finished products.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to provide input on tooling design, process improvement, and manufacturing feasibility.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on tooling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Identify and implement corrective actions for tooling issues, such as die wear, misalignment, or dimensional inaccuracies.
Monitor and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Document all maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections performed on tooling equipment.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in tooling technology, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS
Proven experience as a Tool and Die Technician in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines and other precision machining equipment.
Strong understanding of tooling design principles, blueprint reading.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) a plus.
Solid knowledge of various tool and die materials, heat treatment processes, and surface coatings.
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues quickly and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay starts at $25.00 and up depending on previous related experience.
