Job Description
Our client is looking for a Precision Sheet Metal Inspector. Founded in 1943, this privately held company specializes in precision metal manufacturing and holds ISO-9001 certification. Their diverse customer base includes medical, military, telecommunications, and other industries, known for their commitment to quality and excellence. In this role, you will ensure that products meet customer specifications by performing visual and dimensional inspections, managing non-conforming materials, and supporting quality reporting to maintain high standards. You will also interpret customer drawings, assist in resolving manufacturing quality concerns, and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Visually and dimensionally inspecting sheet metal parts for approval
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications at a high level
- Managing RMA disposition and maintaining related databases
- Creating work orders for repairs or remakes
- Using SolidWorks and inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Participating in corrective and preventive action programs
- Maintaining accurate quality records and reporting
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience inspecting sheet metal and/or machined parts
- Ability to read and interpret technical prints and specifications with high proficiency
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) at a high level
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel
