Job Description
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Inspector. This company has over 50 years of experience in engineering a wide range of innovative materials used in sectors from self-driving cars to space stations, medical technologies, and smart farming. In this role, you will be responsible for visually and mechanically inspecting a variety of mechanical parts and raw materials, ensuring they meet strict customer and production standards. You’ll set up and operate a range of measuring equipment, perform complex inspections, and collaborate with QA engineering on inspection system improvements.
In this position, you will work with complex blueprints and specifications, inspect parts on the production floor, and generate quality documentation. You’ll also be involved in upgrading inspection software, performing first-piece validation of CNC parts, and troubleshooting inspection equipment and gauges. Your expertise in measuring with tools like verniers, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges will be essential to maintaining high-quality standards.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (2nd shift, approximately 10% differential)
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Inspect and measure machined and raw parts using various precision tools and equipment
- Quality-focused mindset with experience in first-piece, incoming, and final inspection processes
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of shop theory, shop mathematics, and calibration procedures
- Experience with CMM, optical comparators, hardness testers, ultrasonic, and sine blocks
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex inspection instruments and gauges
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in mechanical inspection is preferred
