Job Description


For over 60 years, our local client has provided state-of-the art precision CNC machining, die cutting, metal stamping, waterjet and laser services to companies in a wide range of industries.
They're  looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join their Quality Control team. The schedule for this position is Mon-Thurs 7-4:30 and Fridays 7-11:00.

Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on position in a busy department, and your skill and experience will really add value to our team. Your day will be filled with first piece, in-process, and final inspections of parts and the creation of inspection reports. They prefer to have an individual with the ability to take the lead with internal tool calibration and calibration record-keeping, and to generate certificates of compliance and first article inspection sheets in accordance with ISO 9001-2015.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing part dimensions and tolerancing
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T
  • Ability to run proved CMM inspection programs.
  • Able to use most inspection tools: calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, gage pins etc.
  • Calibration experience
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Solid math skills and solid understanding of metal machining processes and capabilities
  • Ability to be function well as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
Pluses:
  • Lean manufacturing training
  • Working within an ISO environment
  • PPAP and First Article knowledge
  • CMM or MicroVu programming experience
  • Strong computer skills
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Metals Fabrication Mechanical Inspector
