Our Client is looking for a Machine Shop Lead. This person will assist the Machine Shop Manager in the execution of all machining, grinding and programming processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishing, maintaining and continuously improving a safe working environment
  • Lead team to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
  • Setup, dial-in, and operate machinery (grinders, manual machines, CNC machines, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer demand
  • Develop, implement and maintain robust program creation, revision, and control processes and procedures in accordance with ISO: 9001 standards
  • Maintain and manage machine shop backlog in support all project schedules
  • Interface with Oracle to manage planning work orders and purchasing raw material
  • Deliver high-quality prototype machine components that meet customer quality, cost, and performance needs
  • Support a team of motivated programmers and machinists and provide a path of career development for the team through training in MasterCAM
  • Design and develop standard tooling, fixturing, setup sheets and playbooks when applicable
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize programs, reduce cycle times, and consolidate tooling
  • Maintain a staff of motivated machinists/programmers, frequently review performance of, and provide a path of career development for the team
  • Support preventative maintenance schedule; ensure preventative maintenance requirements are performed on-time and at high quality
  • Provide technical assistance on machine tool performance / calibration / fixturing / tooling / PM requirements
  • Act as Manufacturing liaison for the ECR/ECO process, identifying and resolving requests that may affect quality, cost, or delivery of products
  • Lead Daily Management discussions and develop root cause and countermeasures pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience and demonstrated skills relative to CNC programming via MasterCAM
  • Experience operating and programming CNC lathes and mills
  • Familiarity with grinding operations
  • Achieve high precision milling and turning that meets engineering print requirements
  • Write well and communicate clearly to all functions within the organization
  • Fundamental understanding of the assembly of precision components
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, and AutoCAD
  • Experience reading and generating G-code for a wide variety of machine controls
  • Experience working in an ISO: 9001 certified environment
  • Solid understanding of MRP system and material flow
  • Fundamental understanding of Windows Microsoft Office and Oracle functions
