Our client is looking for an SMT Department Manager. This award-winning company specializes in advanced electronics manufacturing, supporting innovation from start-ups to global leaders. They recently received the 2020 Technology Company of the Year award from the State of Massachusetts and operate in a state-of-the-art, expanded facility offering manufacturing, prototyping, and repair services.
In this role, you will be hands-on in overseeing the SMT line during the first shift, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in production. You will manage equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and programming, while also overseeing inventory and leading continuous improvement efforts. Your goal will be to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high-quality output, all while training and supervising team members.

Job Description

Your goal will be to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high-quality output, all while training and supervising team members.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the SMT manufacturing line, managing daily operations and equipment setup
- Run and program SMT equipment including screen print, pick and place, and reflow oven
- Perform machine maintenance, minor editing, and troubleshooting
- Manage inventory for ongoing projects
- Analyze defect data to implement process improvements and train staff
- Maintain a safe work environment and uphold confidentiality of all customer and company information
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years of industry experience or equivalent in electronics manufacturing
- Strong hands-on experience with SMT equipment and machine programming
- Ability to analyze data, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshoot issues
- Proactive problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
