Remote Senior Environment ArtistÂ
Job DescriptionÂ
This is a REMOTE role at a AAA client working on a well-established MMO title. Collaborate with design to build immersive environments with a focus on composition, detail, and mood, while ensuring that gameplay spaces are readable. Â
Embrace visual storytelling and create art to enhance gameplay experiences with a focus on worldbuilding.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Be the main contact for other disciplines on Environment Art matters Â
- Partner with Art Directors and Producers to define craft expectations and development standards Â
- Perform as an Individual Contributor to solve challenging problems and set the quality bar for the team Â
- Uphold best practices to maintain craft quality and consistency across titles by providing teammates and partners with technical breakdowns, process guidance, and aesthetic support for Content Leads and Directors Â
- Provide guidance to Content Leads and Producers for content deliveryÂ
- Work with the Art Director, Technical Art Directors, and Game Designers to create a pipeline for creating 3D environments in Unreal, based on visual, technical and gameplay requirements Â
- Accountable for environments created for prototyping Â
- Accountable for 3D assets to facilitate Tech Art’s material look development Â
- Maintain documentation for discipline knowledge Â
- Participate in team discussions, reviews and planning Â
- Mentor junior environment artistsÂ
ExperienceÂ
- 5+ years experience shipping games as an environment artist Â
- Experience leading a team Â
- Experience working on console, PC, or mobile games Â
- Experience with Unreal Â
- In-depth knowledge of level creation, with some experience with terrain, scripting, PBR Materials, performance optimization, and level management Â
- Experience with scene composition, set dressing, navigation routing, materials, and lighting Â
- Experience with digital sculpting and texturing 3D assets Â
- Experience balancing art quality and performance optimizationsÂ
