The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for visually and mechanically inspecting a broad range of mechanical parts and raw materials, ensuring they meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role involves setting up and using various measuring equipment, working with complex blueprints, and performing detailed inspections of machined parts, sheet metal, copper, or aluminum components.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience inspecting and measuring with verniers, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM
- Knowledge of inspecting machined parts, sheet metal, copper, or aluminum
- Ability to work with complex blueprints and specifications
- Experience setting up and calibrating complex inspection instruments, including optical comparators, hardness testers, ultrasonic equipment, and coordinate measuring machines
- Strong understanding of shop theory, shop mathematics, and inspection procedures
- Ability to analyze and adapt inspection methods for new or unusual parts
- Experience working with QA engineering on inspection system projects like automating data collection, SPC, and gage R&R
