Job Title: Manual Machinist - 1st and 2nd Shift

About the Role:
Our client is seeking skilled Manual Machinists to join their team on 1st and 2nd shifts. As a Manual Machinist, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating manual machines to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools. If you have experience with sheet metal, tool and die, and manual machining, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines, including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, punches, saws, hydraulic presses, and boring mills
- Use manual machines to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools
- Choose the right tool, die, or mold for specific production requirements
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Inspect parts using height gauges and gauge blocks
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Measure threads using calipers and micrometers
- Utilize hand tools, such as an Allen wrench, screwdriver, and torque wrench
Requirements:
- Experience with tool and die and sheet metal
- Strong understanding of manual machining principles and practices
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
- Experience measuring threads (screw thread or drilled hole thread)
- Proficiency with hand tools, including an Allen wrench, screwdriver, torque wrench, etc.
- Ability to perform repetitive elbow movements, rotating wrist movements, grasping, squeezing, and handling objects, tools, or controls
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on both 1st and 2nd shifts
