The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, and cycle time using Lean and Six Sigma principles; Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities such as process improvements, equipment installation/modification and material system development. Demonstrate results in technical problem solving, product/process improvement and supporting customer focused programs/services is required.
Develops, implements, and sustains policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department;
Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements in assigned areas of responsibility using Lean and Six Sigma tools;
Provides technical support for 7x24 manufacturing facility in assigned areas of responsibility
Analyze technology requirements, resource needs, and schedules to assess and plan project execution;
Confer with management, production, facilities, and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) staff to discuss project specifications, objectives, and procedures;
Writes periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific projects;
Insures that EHS policies affecting projects are followed;
Applies quality standards to projects to insure compliance with certification requirements in plant applications;
Works with customers to develop and qualify process changes and provide technical services;
Review and recommend contracts and cost estimates;
