Production Control Coordinator

A local Newport, NH Machine Shop / Manufacturing facility is seeking a Production Control Estimator, working in a team environment under the general direction of the President of the Company.   This position is responsible for the final preparation of vendor quotes and vendor purchase orders.  This position is also responsible for tracking work load, forecasting manpower needs, preparing schedules, expediting and assisting manufacturing wherever possible. The individual is professional and dedicated with excellent communication and people skills.  

  • Process vendor quotes working in conjunction with the office administrator, engineering and manufacturing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Obtain pricing for raw materials and other outside special processing while balancing cost and quality.
  • Order raw materials and prepare vendor purchase orders.
  • Provide Manufacturing with workload schedules.
  • Prioritize and direct manufacturing regarding the order jobs should be processed.
  • Expedite customer’ s orders as needed.
  • Actively contribute to a team environment.

  • A High School Diploma or GED required or experience in the field.
  • Background in a Job Shop environment with extensive understanding of manufacturing blueprints and subcontracting requirements is necessary.
  • Ability to quote processes involving multiple-component assemblies.
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be professional, possess excellent interpersonal skills and can handle sensitive, confidential situations.  Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with vendors, outside customers and individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Work requires continuous attention to detail and ability to compose, type and proof materials; establish priorities and meet deadlines. Effective decision-making abilities are necessary.
  • Ability to quote processes involving multiple-component assemblies.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications required, including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Exact JobBoss, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Internet and e-mail capabilities also required.
