Job Description


Our Client has been designing and manufacturing machines for the medical industry and the Defense Industry for over 50 years.  As part of their growth initiative, they are preparing for an upcoming relocation to accommodate increased research and manufacturing needs. To support this transition and ongoing production demands, they have opened four immediate Material Handler positions on the first shift.  *Approximately a 6 month assignment in Peabody with the potential to relocate to Salem, NH in early 2026.


Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (every other Friday off)

In this vital role, you will serve as a key player in managing the company's materials flow. Your primary responsibilities will involve receiving, storing, and distributing materials efficiently while maintaining detailed and accurate inventory records. The position ensures that the company's operations run smoothly, supporting shipping, receiving, and production processes.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Verification:
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper handling.
  • Cross-reference items against purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists for accuracy.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects, reporting issues promptly.

  • Inventory Management:
  • Perform physical counts of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Use inventory management software, including ERP systems and barcode scanners, for logging and tracking inventory movements.
  • Reconcile physical counts with system records, investigating and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits regularly to uphold data integrity.
  • Prepare detailed reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and inventory trends.
  • Store materials in designated areas, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Use proper handling procedures to prevent damage or deterioration.

  • Material Distribution:
  • Fulfill material requisitions swiftly, ensuring production and shipping teams receive necessary items on time.
  • Retrieve and deliver requested materials within the facility, maintaining timeliness and accuracy.
  • Distribute materials to designated departments, verifying quantities and condition.

  • Order Processing and Communication:
  • Prepare purchase orders and requisitions with attention to detail.
  • Liaise with vendors for incoming shipments and resolve any issues related to shortages or damages.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to communicate inventory needs and resolve discrepancies.

  • Additional Duties:
  • Maintain a safe and organized storage environment, complying with safety protocols.
  • Assist in waste management, including disposing of surplus or scrap materials responsibly.
  • Support shipping and receiving documentation processes, ensuring records are up-to-date.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: Demonstrated experience with cycle counting, inventory control, and kitting; stable work history preferred.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic math, familiarity with inventory management software (ERP preferred), barcode scanners, and computers (especially Excel).
    • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift and move materials safely, with good stamina.
    • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in inventory and documentation.
    • Communication and Teamwork: Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with vendors, colleagues, and management.
    • Knowledge: Familiarity with inventory management principles and SAP is a plus.
