Manufacturing Engineering Technician

This position is responsible by providing technical support to the Backplane, Flex, and associated Assembly Departments.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Follow all short sheets, standard operating procedures and  company safety regulations.
  • Provide ongoing manufacturing support to assigned process area.
  • Program and provide maintenance to automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Research, implement, and optimize material cure schedules.
  • Design and/or procure tooling and equipment to provide ergonomic improvements to assigned process area(s).
  • Design of fixtures for process needs and improvements.
  • Provided detailed tooling drawings for release into our drawing database.
  • Attend assembly reviews and give inputs for improved manufacturability.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot /repair of machinery as necessary.
  • Assist engineers and technicians in other departments as necessary.
  • Monitor action items list and make progress against those assigned to you.
  • Update existing process specifications and write new ones as needed.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying systematic problems
  • This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.               
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements:
  • Associate' s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school i.e. Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret customer documentation/drawings.
  • Experience supporting electronic manufacturing processes is a plus, including:  Soldering; Conformal Coating; Aqueous Cleaning; Marking.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building and organization skills in a fast paced environment.
  • Basic computer experience a plus - Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
  • Must be motivated to make improvements and be a self-starter on projects.
  • Basic machine shop (mill, lathe, and grinder) skills strongly preferred.
  • Ability to provide timely, cost effective solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.          
  • Must demonstrate effective use of AutoCAD R14/2000.
  • Must be a team player and be willing to interface with and assist other workgroups as necessary.

Ability to multi-task and drive department toward business and departmental goals
