This great medical device client in the seacoast area is now looking for a Buyer/ Planner!
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for all purchasing and planning activities relating to manufacturing, service and inventory control for assigned product lines. The position is also responsible for optimizing inventory levels, and to be alert to material changes, shortages, unplanned scrap and material availability. Maintains the MRP system data and its integrity, prepares and analyzes reports, and supports project management of existing and new products. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the Supplier Approval process and the managing of the approved supplier list, maintaining Purchasing Files, and development of the production plan.
Maintain and follow purchasing procedures to conform to ISO standards. This includes thorough analysis of potential suppliers and annual review of existing suppliers reviewing costs, quality, delivery, and other pertinent factors.
Interfaces w/Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, Management, etc. on a daily basis communicating status and championing issue resolution.
Responsible for initiatives driving results measured by lower material costs, more responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and productivity throughout the supply chain.
Coordinate the timely disposition of NCMR’ s and support all QA activities to communicate non-conformance and corrective actions with suppliers.
Release production orders to production floor.
Modify production schedules as changes occur.
Acts as the primary contact for internal customers, ensuring proper communication of product and equipment status.
Provides management with clear, timely and accurate information with which to make decisions. Alerts management to deviations (or potential deviations) from established plans.
Capable of ensuring timely and effective completion of Shortage Report, Late P.O.s, MRP Action Messages, and “ What-Ifs”.
Coordinates & expedites the placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
Manages the implementation of Engineering Changes throughout the product lifecycle to minimize obsolete inventory within change effectivity constraints.
Interprets engineering change orders (ECO), implements dispositions affecting stock, work in progress.
Supports New Product Introductions as a liaison between production, engineering, quality, and sales to coordinate new program requirements with MRP planned orders to ensure all materials have been ordered and product introduction schedules are attainable.
